his+her q+a

i'm linking up with Bethany again for the his+her q+a. this is such a fun way to share a little glimpse of your relationship. i love hearing Beau's answers and sometimes even learn something new!

What game show would you like to be on?
His: i think my odds are best with the price is right
Her: the family feud. i think it would be so much fun to do with my family.

When you had a crush on your other half, what song(s) reminded you of them?
His: baby got back. i don't know songs.
Her: Blake Shelton's God gave me you

What is your realistic dream job/career goal?
His: working as a special victims unit officer
Her: honestly my career goal was to be a stay-at-home mom. i would love to be able to home school our children and I would really love to be able to have a photography business with an in-home studio.

Who is a famous person past or present that you admire?
His: Zac Brown. He just started a new summer camp for special needs children... and he tours with Jack Daniels!
Her:  Mother Teresa. she was such an amazing woman who had such a strong faith, the kind of faith i wish i had.

Describe the worst date you've ever been on.
His: getting broken up with on the date, and then having to drive her home.
Her: my first "real" date. we went to the movies and he stuck his tongue down my throat, literally.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
His: i don't have any holiday traditions.
Her: secret santa. everyone picks a name out of a hat and they leave little notes and treats under that person's pillow and are just extra kind to them and then on christmas you give the person a special gift and reveal yourself to them. and we're starting holiday traditions for our family, so soon Beau will have many new traditions :)

What is your favorite form of communication?
His: i guess talking face-to-face.
Her: e-mail. i hate talking on the phone and people expect an immediate response when texting and i just don't spend all day with my phone in had. e-mail is just the most convenient method of communication for me.

What's the furthest back memory you can remember?
His: i guess playing with Amy on christmas. she was acting like i was a reindeer with rope tied around my waist. the house seems so much bigger then.
Her: sometimes it's hard to distinguish actual memories from pictures and videos you've seen, but i think my earliest memory is from 4 year-old pre-school. I was sick and staying home from school, but my mom had to go in to give the teacher something, so i can remember standing in the doorway of the classroom looking in at all the other kids sitting at the tables coloring.

What's the worst injury you've ever gotten?
His: dislocating my shoulder when i got tackled by a bunch of kids when i was a climb instructor at a rock wall gym.
Her: when i was 17 i was hit head-on by a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road. i tore a tendon in my left ankle slamming on the breaks. i was very lucky though. one of the girls in the back of the car broke her back and another had internal bleeding that put her in the icu for days. thankfully everyone is ok now.

Describe your first kiss together from your own points of view.
His: i opened the door to my car to let her out and i gracefully grabbed her face and yanked her into me and gave her a big old kiss.
Her: our first kiss was on the first night we met. Beau was helping me out of his jeep. he took my hand to help me jump down and as i was jumping down he leaned in and kissed me. i remember feeling butterflies in my stomach. i had such a crush on him.

4 months

this post is almost two weeks late, but better late than never!

our sweet baby O is 4 months old!

bedtime is around 7 every night. although he was sleeping through the night last month, he has started waking for a 4am feeding again. i don't mind though, cause we just get a little cuddle time and then he goes back to sleep for 3-4 more hours.

sleeping during the day is a much different story. O will only take naps for Daddy, so he usually only sleeps in the car or while nursing during the week. on a rare lucky day, he'll give me one nap!

O absolutely ADORES his Daddy. it makes me so happy to see the bond the two of them have. O just lights up when Beau gets home from work.

O has such a playful personality. he loves to giggle and blow raspberries. he loves when i sing and dance with him and i swear he tries to sing along!

O has great head control and loves to sit (with support.) he has started rolling over during the night, but still wont do it during tummy time. he loves his uncles and aunt Mary and even recognizes them when he sees them. he hates being cradled and only wants to be held where he can look out at the world.

Our big boy's stats
weight: 16lbs 50-75%
height: 253/4 in 75%
clothes: 6mo
diapers: size 3

wbw

i'm sorry about losing my temper last night. i was hurt and angry.
i contemplated removing the post this morning, but i decided i want to be honest. when i get hurt i get defensive and i don't think that makes me a bad person, i think that makes me human. we all have flaws and i'm not going to hide mine to try and make me look like a more perfect person.

***

now on to the fun stuff!
let me tell you, i look forward to this link-up every week. i LOOOOVE my husband and our marriage so i love having an excuse to talk about it :)
when i saw this week's topic i got even more excited than i normally do because i immediately knew exactly what to write about!

If money were not an option (say, you won the lottery) what would you buy your man?

i would buy him a 4-door jeep and let him go all out souping it up. and if money were not an option, i'd let him take it off-roading whenever he wanted :)
then we could get rid of his old money pit of a jeep and have another vehicle that we own full out.

venting

tonight my husband received a text message that was like a stab to my gut.
no. not just a stab. like they twisted and dug the knife around to make sure that i felt as much pain as possible. and guess what... it worked.

YOU'VE HURT ME!
i feel like curling up in a ball and weeping because of you.
are you happy now? have you a achieved what you wanted? or are you just going to keep stabbing and twisting until you can hopefully tear me apart?
if that's the case, you're going to be stabbing forever because it's never going to happen.

and in regards to me blogging about you.
yeah... that's the point of a personal blog, to write about your personal life and feelings.
but only you would know that you're who i'm writing about, because i've made a point of leaving your identity out of it. believe me i want to drag your name through the dirt, because honestly, you deserve it
unfortunately my conscience won't allow me to do that.

i know you're angry because i don't just blindly do as you say and think as you'd like me to and that is never going to change. i know i'm a damn good wife and mother and i don't need your approval to make that true.

brag about it

so i am so so excited about this new link-up, hosted by one of the funnest bloggers i know, Jen

too often we brush compliments off our shoulder or doubt that all of our caring, cleaning, creating, and multitasking is meaningful. this link-up is a wonderful way to remind each other ourselves to be self confident and to appreciate ourselves so that others can appreciate us too.

Holy Hell! How many are there?

This is the response I got when I asked my husband if we could do a question and answer post for my blog. That might give you a little idea of how much he despises these things. But since I LOVE them, we do them a lot more often than he'd like.

Sorry babe!

This Q & A is part of a link-up over at Love the Grows, one of my daily reads. I can wait to read what other people answer and see how many other husband consider this worse than water boarding.

His&Her Q&A

Here goes-

What do you do when you're angry?
His: I get really quiet and tense.
Her: I get quiet too when I first get angry and then move on to angry loud talking and then crying.

What is an item of clothing your other half has that you wish they would throw away?
His: all the shoes that she doesn't ever wear and I've never seen her wear.
Her: at least half of his "free T-shirt" collection.

What is the greatest family vacation you went on as a kid?
His: I guess to Florida. That's all we ever really did. We never did anything special.
Her: we took an "East Coast trip" where we drove to a bunch of different cities on the way to NYC and back. Every stop was like it's own separate vacation and I love road trips with my family.

Would you want to live in the city, country, or beach?
His: country
Her: country. My dream is buy a few acres to build a little farm house with a chicken coupe out back and a few cows grazing the grass.

How do you handle farting in front of each other?
His: Fine.
Her: I don't fart ;) but seriously when I have to, I don't hold back.

What is your favorite type of cake?
His: red velvet/ carrot
Her: cookie cake. I'm a kid at heart!

What is the first thing you do when you get home from work?
His: give my wife a kiss and steal my son.
Her: I'm a stay at home mom, but the first thing I do when Beau gets home is hand him Owen. His bed time is just an hour after Beau gets home, so I know they need as much time together as possible.

What is a phrase or word your other half frequently says?
His: "I don't know. Go ask your dad."
Her: "I'll do it."- he's such a gentleman "damn it"- sometimes he gets frustrated doing whatever it is he said he'll do

Did you exaggerate anything when you were first dating?
His: How bad ass I was.
Her: How funny I thought he was.

Who is your others half as a superhero?
His: Wonder Woman
Her: Batman. He's a regular guy who would kill for a Bat Mobile and fights for justice. I think I fit better as the female version of Robin!

These are his mostly one-worded answers. Hopefully we'll work are way up to more detailed answers as we continue to link-up each week.

That's right honey, we're doing this once a week now! ;)
